Speaking to the Daily Mail from a bomb shelter in Tel Aviv, Kuperwasser described the reported killing as a turning point. Discussing the current power vacuum at the top of the regime, Kuperwasser said: 'There is no clear heir. The Iranian regime is not going to fall in one day. The Iranian regime is not going to fall in one day'. The escalation follows the collapse of nuclear negotiations between Washington and Tehran last week, with Kuperwasser saying that 'Iran's maximum flexibility was still far from meeting the minimum American demands'.

Manchester United fans have again hit back at co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe's views on immigration - this time with a banner at Old Trafford. Seán Guerin SC told the Irish Examiner the plans to cap fees on judicial reviews are "an attack on the people who use the legal system", which is "troubling". One key element of the plan is the introduction of new restrictions on the use of judicial reviews. The plan also proposes the use of tests, with courts likely to be asked to consider whether a judicial review would be successful. Ahead of this, a new scale of fees will be introduced for environmental judicial reviews. Judicial review is not pro- or anti-development.

The leaders were set to meet where the offices of the Iranian presidency, the supreme leader and Iran’s National Security Council are located. Last June, with planning under way to strike Iran’s nuclear targets, US president Donald Trump asserted that the United States knew where Khamenei was hiding and could have killed him. The United States used that knowledge to hone its ability to track Khamenei and predict his movements. The US and Israel had also gathered specifics about the locations of key Iranian intelligence officers. Iran’s top intelligence officer escaped, but the senior ranks of Iran’s intelligence agencies were decimated, according to people briefed on the operation.

What followed was a cacophony of booming explosions in the sky as the city’s air-defence missile system began taking out missile after missile, drone after drone. The Dogs led 10-8 at the break and went further ahead with a try to winger Jacob Kiraz after a trademark Crichton left-hand flick. Dragons debutant winger Setu Tu, at the age of 27, capped a stellar match with a try in the 59th minute to reduce Canterbury's lead to just two. Atkinson went for a failed 50m shot with 90 seconds to go and the Bulldogs received a penalty. The Dragons showcased resilience in defence in the opening half to thwart slick Canterbury attack, orchestrated by half Lachlan Galvin. The United States and Israel launched their most ambitious attacks on Iran in decades on Saturday in an operation that killed Supreme ‌Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. “Just imagine how emboldened this regime would be if they ever had and actually were armed with nuclear weapons as a means to deliver their message,” he said on Saturday. The International Atomic Energy Agency and the US intelligence community have separately assessed that Iran shuttered a nuclear weapons development programme in 2003. No other country has done so without eventually producing nuclear weapons. He said Iran’s “menacing activities directly endanger the United States, our troops, our bases overseas, and our allies throughout the world”.

A storming second-half performance that brought goals for Bruno Fernandes and Benjamin Sesko and lifted United into the top three should see Carrick's odds shorten. When Sesko leapt to meet Bruno Fernandes' whipped cross only to send his header straight at Henderson, there were further signs of a Red revival. Cunha lost Lacroix with a deft change of direction only to be dragged back by the scruff of the neck by the Palace defender. Fernandes, Cunha and Harry Maguire also wanted to see a red card. Fernandes kept his cool to send Henderson the wrong way from the spot.
