Pan smashed his own 100m freestyle world record, shaving 0.40 seconds off the previous mark he set at the World Championships in Doha in February, to humble a slew of champion rivals in Paris. In a separate TV interview on Wednesday, Pan described how frequently the Chinese swimmers are drug tested in Paris. “I’m upset right now because you don’t win 100 freestyle by a body length on that field. “That’s not real, you don’t beat that field. Kyle Chalmers, David Popovici, Jack Alexy, you don’t beat those guys by one full body length in 100 freestyle.

From myself, Ultán Corcoran, and Niall McIntyre earlier in the day, it was a joy to bring all the Team Ireland updates to your screens. It was a mixed bag as some of our athletes' Olympics came to an end, but Daire Lynch and Philip Doyle provided the crucial spark. Sean Waddilove and Robert Dickson's Skiff medal race was postponed earlier today alongside Eve McMahon's Dingy Race 2. That means the Skiff sailing duo are expected to resume action in their medal race at 12.13pm tomorrow. Athletics also features for the first time this Olympics, where the 4x400m Mixed Relay team minus Rhasidat Adeleke go in their heats at 6.22pm among many other Team Ireland track and field stars.

In the most impartial way possible, it seems like the completely wrong decision as Daina Moorehouse clearly landed the more influential shots.
