When he nodded back and inside, Saliba was there to flick home, the ball going in off Mamadou Sarr, to whom Rosenior had given a full Premier League debut. Raya was almost dispossessed by João Pedro after a risky back-pass from Martín Zubimendi on 31 minutes. Enzo Fernández extended Raya with a low shot from distance and from the corner, Raya appeared to catch João Pedro in the act of punching clear. From the next one, Trevoh Chalobah flicked on and João Pedro forced Raya into another save. When James whipped a ball in from open play on the right just before the hour, João Pedro flashed a header off target.

Without an income, the wheels of the Auld Lehane bandwagon were sure to come off. Auld Lehane, the jockey, was back in the saddle for 2026. They all knew, you see, that if auld Lehane was onboard, the chances of winning were almost guaranteed. To the untrained eye, it might seem that Auld Lehane is too old, stupid, and overweight to throw his leg over anything more flighty than a bar stool. But alas, if I'm in the race at all, regardless of the competition, I'm sure to romp home first.

GAA president-elect Derek Kent says integration will happen all in good time and “a correct manner that will suit all three organisations”. Kent has spoken about a more realistic timeline for the merger between the GAA, Ladies Gaelic Football Association and Camogie Association. At Congress on Friday, Waterford chairman Neil Moore expressed concerns about the current integration process and Kent agreed with his sentiments. I didn’t say what I wanted to say about integration during the election campaign – I said it three years ago. Integration will happen and if it happens on the 150th year anniversary (of the GAA), it will happen, but it will happen in a correct time space and a correct manner that will suit all three organisations.

A storming second-half performance that brought goals for Bruno Fernandes and Benjamin Sesko and lifted United into the top three should see Carrick’s odds shorten. But Fernandes converted the penalty that Lacroix conceded when hauling down Matheus Cunha to earn his red card. If there really is a United DNA, then Carrick is plugged into it. Palace had other opportunities before United finally began to rouse themselves as half-time approached. Fernandes, Cunha, and Harry Maguire also wanted to see a red card.

Labour came third in the voting after Reform and now faces losing supporters on its left and right wings in forthcoming local and devolved elections on May 7th. The Reform party should not now be assumed to be the only or main beneficiary of Labour’s loss of polling and voting support. This major setback for Starmer’s Labour comes after his serious misjudgments in the Mandelson scandal, serial shifts in his prime ministerial and advisory teams and his failure to articulate a governing purpose or strategy. Starmer’s continuing political leadership is put in deeper question by this result, not least because he prevented the Labour mayor of Manchester Andy Burnham from standing. The English local and Scottish and Welsh devolved elections on May 7th become all the more perilous for him after this defeat.

Children give us a different perspective on life. Most parents will accept we are in fight or flight mode 24/7. My family, and many others, have an added challenge with a non-verbal autistic son. Each morning, as he heads off on his bus, I breathe a sigh of relief, knowing he will be well cared for by the teachers, staff and especially the Special Needs Assistants (SNAs) in his special school. Were it not for them, Darragh would not be in school.

Donal Burke starred in the first half for the Dubs, striking almost half of their 20-point tally. Seáan Elliot maintained Antrim’s attacking threat with his impeccable ability to strike a free despite a ferocious wind. Ten minutes before the half, Antrim had hope restored when Ruairi Donaghy managed to flick the sliotar beyond Seán Brennan and the roar from the stands bellowed Antrim into a flurry of scores. Keelan Molloy pointed a brace and Elliot continued his flawless free-taking excellence with the hosts cutting the deficit to six points. Cian O’Sullivan came out sharp and struck a further three scores accompanied by Whitely who punished Antrim from sloppy play which halted their attack.

The paper includes options such as congestion charging or low emission zones, where higher-emission vehicles are not permitted. It is understood the document says legislation would be required to introduce either congestion charging or low emissions zones. Transport minister Darragh O’Brien has previously ruled out the introduction of congestion charges, saying he wants to improve traffic flows through improvements to public transport. It recommended that a review of existing legislation be undertaken to establish whether amendments or new legislation would be required for creating congestion charging or low emissions zones. The plan says that “it will be important that out-of-town retail parks and industrial zones will not enjoy any beneficial fall out from congestion charging in urban centres”.
