Orban has accused Zelenskiy of slow-walking repairs to a damaged pipeline running across Ukrainian territory, which brings cheap oil from Russia to Hungary and Slovakia. “The cargo was registered in accordance with international transportation rules and current European customs procedures,” the Ukrainian public bank said. Ukraine’s foreign minister Andrii Sybiha accused the Hungarian authorities of taking “seven Ukrainian citizens hostage” and “stealing money” belonging to the state bank.

Met Éireann has warned of difficult travelling conditions this morning, with a cold start to the day bringing widespread frost and ice. It will be a sunny and dry day, with highs of 8 to 11C. As dry conditions and clear skies are set to continue into tonight, it will be another cold one with lows of -1 to 4C. Met Éireann’s outlook for the rest of next week is no better as “further wet and windy conditions” are expected.

The longest-serving First Minister of Scotland, Ms Sturgeon was a defining figure in modern Scottish and UK politics. Upon becoming leader of the Scottish National Party she led the party to the greatest electoral strength in its history. Ms Sturgeon will deliver the 26th annual Philip Monahan Memorial Lecture at University College Cork (UCC). Global stock markets continued to take a hammering on Friday as oil prices rocketed in their biggest weekly gain for six years, with no sign of a swift resolution to the conflict in the Middle East. The sharp gains since the US-Israel war with Iran began on Saturday mean oil prices have risen by around 25 per cent so far this week – the biggest weekly gains since early 2020 at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. The Stoxx Europe 600 Index was down 1 per cent by the close, extending its weekly drop to 5.6 per cent. Wales will therefore where a change strip, rather than their traditional red, in Dublin in round four under rules that are also expected to apply at the 2027 World Cup. Colour blindness (colour vision deficiency, or CVD) affects approximately one in 12 men (8%) and one in 200 women. In the UK there are approximately three million colour blind people (about 4.5% of the entire population), most of whom are male. Wales, meanwhile, are searching for a first Six Nations win since 2023, though pushed Scotland close in their final outing before the fallow week.
