The Maharashtra government has revoked its old order granting 5% reservation to the backward classes among Muslims in the State. The reservation was granted under the Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) category via the formation of the SBC-A or Special Backward Category-A. The Congress-Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Maharashtra government in 2014 had granted 16% reservation to Marathas and 5% reservation to Muslims in government and semi-government jobs and education. While the court struck down reservation for Marathas, and reservation for Muslims in jobs, it observed the need for reservation for Muslims in education. “Does Ajit Pawar’s party not stand for Muslim reservation anymore?” Mr. Chavan told The Hindu on Wednesday (February 18, 2026).

American television host Stephen Colbert slammed his network CBS for denying that it pulled an interview with Rep. James Talarico from The Late Show. On Tuesday night’s broadcast, Colbert said that the network’s lawyers told his staff the segment would not air. The rule generally requires broadcast networks to provide comparable airtime to political candidates during election periods. He said that “every word” of Monday’s script had been cleared by CBS lawyers before the Talarico interview was abruptly dropped. I really don’t want an adversarial relationship with the network,” Colbert said.

Asset managers have dominated this market since U.S. regulators approved the first spot Bitcoin ETFs in 2024. By issuing its own ETFs, Morgan Stanley is internalising distribution and keeping fee revenue in-house. Nagpur News 26 साल से लंबित भंडारा रोड का काम अब नहीं रुकेगा। स्थानीय प्रशासन ने कार्रवाई तेज कर दी है। भूमि अधिग्रहण होते ही तत्काल सड़क विस्तारीकरण का कार्य शुरू होगा। मेयो चौक से सुनील होटल तक पुराना भंडारा रोड का जल्द ही चेहरा-मोहरा बदलेगा। इस रोड के निर्माण में आ रहे सभी पेंच सुलझ गए हैं, इसलिए अब निर्माण का काम नहीं थमेगा। ऐसा संबंधित अधिकारियों ने स्पष्ट किया है।नए-नए पेंच में उलझाकर रखा गया : 7 जनवरी 2000 को नागपुर के 45 डीपी रोड विस्तार व विकास को मंजूरी दी गई थी। इनमें से 44 सड़कों का काम पूरा हो गया है, लेकिन मेयो से सुनील होटल तक का यह महत्वपूर्ण मार्ग पिछले लगभग 26 वर्षों से अधर में लटका हुआ था। मध्य नागपुर विकास आघाड़ी की ओर से भूषण दडवे और रवींद्र पैगवार ने साल 2014 में जनहित याचिका दायर की थी। इस पर सुनवाई करते हुए हाईकोर्ट की डबल बेंच ने 19 जुलाई 2017 को प्रशासन को तीन महीने के भीतर निर्माण शुरू करने का आदेश दिया था। आदेश के बावजूद लंबे समय तक टालमटोल और उदासीनता बनी रही। नए-नए पेंच में उलझाकर रखा गया।बार-बार पत्र के बाद भी पहल नहीं : मनाविआ ने से केंद्रीय मंत्री नितीन गडकरी, मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस, पालकमंत्री चंद्रशेखर बावनकुले सहित सभी जनप्रतिनिधि व संबंधित सरकारी यंत्रणा के अधिकारियों को बार-बार लिखित निवेदन सौंपे। बताया कि, इस सड़क के लिए भूमि अधिग्रहण की राशि पहले ही उपलब्ध हो चुकी थी और दस्तावेजी प्रक्रियाएं भी शुरू हो गई थीं, लेकिन अधिग्रहण की कार्रवाई शुरू नहीं की गई थी।मुआवजे के लिए दस्तावेज जमा करें : भूषण दडवे ने कहा है कि, जिन्हें मुआवजा मिला है वे सड़क के लिए आवश्यक जमीन खाली कर दें। जिन्हें मुआवजा नहीं मिला, वे जरूरी दस्तावेज एसडीओ कार्यालय में जमा कर दें। मनाविआ के अनुसार कुछ लोग इस मामले में लोगों को भ्रमित कर रहे हैं, इसलिए सरकारी कार्यालय में जाकर सत्य परिस्थिति का पता कर लीजिए, ताकि आगे की परेशानी से बचा जा सके।35 बाधक संपत्तियों पर कार्रवाई : 5 फरवरी 2026 को जिलाधिकारी डॉ. विपीन इटनकर, एसडीओ सुरेश बगले, तहसीलदार राजेश देठे और अन्य अधिकारियों ने क्षेत्र का दौरा किया। इसके बाद इसी 16 फरवरी से भूमि अधिग्रहण की प्रत्यक्ष कार्रवाई शुरू की गई। निगमायुक्त ने मौके पर पहुंचकर स्थिति का निरीक्षण किया। मंगलवार को 35 बाधक संपत्तियों पर कार्रवाई की गई। उधर, सुनील होटल क्षेत्र से भी अधिग्रहण की प्रक्रिया शुरू कर दी गई है।

HYDERABAD: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Tuesday said that the state government aims to encourage youth and students to move away from harmful habits and actively participate in sports activities. Vikramarka was addressing the gathering after launching the Chief Minister’s Cup 2025-26 app ‘Nilamani’ at the Secretariat in the presence of Sports Minister Vakiti Srihari and Sports Authority of Telangana chairman Shiva Sena Reddy. “The state sports department is organising the CM’s Cup events with an aim to identify hidden sporting talent in rural areas. The deputy chief minister lauded the introduction of a 24/7 AI-enabled call centre through the Nilamani app, which provides real-time information and updates to athletes under the CM’s Cup initiative. “Competitions in over 44 disciplines are being conducted on a large scale in 12 districts,” he added.
