Sam George says it’s not the duty of MPs to undertake road projects and that an MP can only lobby for such projects to take place in his/her constituency. Following the arrival of the buses, Kelliot Royal Motors dragged the Universal Merchant Bank (UMB) to court for failing to release the vehicles to them. Kelliot Royal Motors claimed that it had secured a loan facility in excess of $3million to procure the buses for onward sale to the NPP. “The Chief Executive Officer of Kelliot Royal Motors Limited and the entire company are hereby demanding from Mr. Freddie Blay to as a matter of urgency act accordingly to a letter from our lawyers or face tough actions from us. According to information gathered by GhanaWeb's Amos Ekow Coffie, the AMA decided to demolish the stores which were operating at the Rawlings Park, following several complaints made by drivers over the difficulty they face in finding a place to park their vehicles when they visit the central business to do business. Speaking to some of the traders, they stated that they were not given any prior notice before the demolishing was carried out. “We did not get any notice from the AMA. We went there to find out what was going on, only to be told they were blocking vehicles from having access to the parking lot so we should remove our containers,” some of the affected traders told GhanaWeb.
