Speaking on the back of the arrest, the Head of the Public Affairs Unit of the Command, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Effia Tenge told GNA that all foreign sex workers have been handed over to the Immigration Service for deportation. She added that the rest involved will be investigated and put before the law courts if found guilty. Again, wooden structures which housed these sex workers were demolished in the exercise. According to the police report, the commercial sex workers mostly consisted of Nigerian nationals and a few Ghanaians.

Prior to the arrest, the hospital security mounted a surveillance that eventually led to the arrest of the suspects on Saturday, May 22 at around 2:00am. The suspects have, however, been handed over to the Korle Bu Police for further investigations.

He wants to know if the existing arrangement where polls, since 1992, have closed at 5pm, is now problematic and needing a review of such nature. "Our position is that currently, the 5pm closure time for polls for elections in this country, poses no problem for our electoral process. Since 1992 till now - except for 2020, polls have always closed at 5pm and that has worked perfectly. So, why change a system that has worked perfectly without any challenges?"

The National Communications Officer of the NDC said that although they largely disagree with most of the proposals being made for election reforms by the Electoral Commission, it, however, believes some of the proposals make sense. He explained that the NDC has a number of proposals that it supports because they fall in line with its ideals. "Let me make the point that we do not disagree with the EC on all its proposed reforms. "All these are laudable proposals so it's not as if the NDC is against everything the EC is proposing but there are some of the proposals that we find problematic," he stressed. That notwithstanding, Dreams FC have won their last three matches at home against Karela, Hearts of Oak, and King Faisal- a warning to Bechem. Also, striker Agyenim Boateng Mensah has found his scoring boots and that should excite head coach Vladislav Viric. Bechem United are without a win in their last three matches and will really need to purge themselves to avert a fourth straight defeat. Last week's 3-1 defeat to King Faisal was de-moralizing and coach Kassim Mingle is under pressure to get the Hunters back to winning ways.

For Nelson Boateng, the plastics business is all he has known since he started working at a factory at age 13. Fearing that the country could ban plastics anytime soon, Boateng’s company, Nelplast which makes plastic shopping bags re-strategized to focus on plastic recycling. In 2015, the once upon a time plastic producer was pushed to think that plastic recycling was a good business opportunity. The current product is a form of asphalt that is a mix of 70 per cent sand and 30 per cent plastic waste. Boateng said he wants to lead the “recycling revolution” in Ghana and help the country achieve at least 50 per cent recycling of plastic waste.

A suit against the founder of the Progressive People's Party (PPP), listing him alongside his wife and their children, was for what Birim LLC said is a $63m case of alleged money laundering and wire fraud. Groupe Nduom, the umbrella company for 60 other businesses owned by Dr Nduom, according to the writ, has put Bernie Maddoff to shame. It further stated that Dr. Nduom’s business would “put Bernie Maddoff to shame”, adding that the purported “criminal scheme” involved “international money wire system – of inflated, over-invoiced and above-market rate fees disguised as payment for ‘management service’”. Responding in a 33-paged document sighted by GhanaWeb, Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom explains that the recent financial sector clean-up in Ghana contributed to “a substantial portion of its [GN Bank] loans were illegally made to Nduom-related entities without the benefit of appropriate risk assessments, managements or determinants”.
