In April 2020, the total number of mobile money transactions increased by 77 percent from 182 million in April last year to 323 million in the same period for 2021. But on a monthly basis, the total volume of transactions witnessed a three percent decrease from 336 million in March to 323 million in April this year.

The report indicated that the non-payment of the surface rentals denied the Petroleum Holding Fund of the needed revenues for development projects. The Chairman of Public Affairs and Communications Sub-Committee of PIAC, Eric Defor said it was the responsibility of Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) to collect surface rentals from the companies operating in the oil and gas sector.
