Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on Saturday met with the Iraqi Defense Minister Lieutenant-General Juma Inad Saadoun, in the presence of Egyptian Minister of Defense and Military Production Mohamed Zaki. Saadoun conveyed a written message to Sisi from Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi, which included an affirmation of Iraq’s appreciation for Egyptian efforts in support of Iraqi interests, particularly in facing common challenges – foremost of which is combating terrorism and achieving security, stability and development. El Gendy achieved 1,477 points, only five points behind Choong, who completed the double for the British team who also won the gold medal in women's competition. On April 30, Abdel-Aziz and her husband, veteran Egyptian comedian Samir Ghanem were transferred to hospital for treatment of severe COVID-19, where Ghanem died on May 20. Since the death of her husband, Abdel-Aziz was in the intensive care unit. Ghanem and Abdel-Aziz are the parents of Donia and Amy Samir Ghanem, and parents-in-law of actor Hassan al-Raddad and Radwan.
