Two major determinants are the international price of a barrel of Brent crude, and the change in the price of the dollar against the Egyptian pound – in addition to other fixed costs and burdens.

Deputy Communication Minister Ghada Labib asserted that the Ministry was seeking to create a model of digital work inside the governmental institutions in Matrouh governorate as part of the state’s policy to opt for digital transition. In statements, Labib said the plan of institutional digital transition embraced by the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology in Matroh aimed at staging the scene for digital transition projects and its sustainability along with honing the digital skills of the employees at the state’s administrative devices. According to a statement by the Egyptian Cabinet, the Egyptian Minister of Housing, Assem al-Gazzar, presented to Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly the position of recent reservations for the lands and units of the “Beit al-Watan” project for Egyptians working abroad. He added that the process of offering land is currently being prepared through the website dedicated to reservation, which is scheduled to continue to display the lands and units available to expatriates. At least two people have been killed and 10 more wounded after Ukrainian missile strikes hit a “civilian crossing” near the Antonivskyi Bridge in Kherson late Thursday, according to the southern region’s Russian-appointed chairman. The Russian-backed Kherson region administration said on its Telegram channel that Ukraine’s military “fired 12 HIMARS at the civilian crossing near the Antonivskyi Bridge, which also operates at night due to the large number of people wishing to travel to the left bank of the Dnipro River.”Ukraine’s military is yet to comment. According to the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Anbaa. A Kuwaiti security source said that a report was received to the Ministry of Interior’s operations about a worker who fell from a scaffold on the second floor in a building under construction in al-Metlaa area. The deceased worker, who was at his mid-thirties was found out to be a holder of the Egyptian nationality, as the corpse was handed over to forensic evidence.

The Egyptian government announced the continuation of the ban on the export of rice abroad in order to secure the needs of the local market, while tightening control over the ports. He stressed that local production of rice covers the needs of citizens throughout the year. Private mills were allowed to participate in the rice supply process which resulted in an increase in the proceeds of rice supplied by farmers for the benefit of the Supply Commodities Authority, he said. The proceeds of rice supply so far amounted to 140,000 tons of rice, since the beginning of the harvest season, which continues until the middle of the December, he pointed out. The number of private mills participating in rice supply amounted to 65 percent of the number of the total mills in the country, which contributed to an increase in supply.

CAIRO – 20 October 2022: Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli ordered extending ban on rice export to meet local market needs, affirming the importance of tightening control over crossing points. Madbouli met on Thursday with Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Ali El-Moselhi to follow up on the ministry’s efforts to provide rice in local markets. Prices of rice per kilogram have reached LE 10 in consumer complexes in light of the ministry’s efforts to secure rice to decrease its prices in local markets. Farmers have provided around 140,000 tons of rice so far since the beginning of the harvest season, which continues until December, Moselhi noted. Egypt also collected 4.2 million tons of local wheat from farmers during the past wheat supply season, which extended from April to August.
