On July 26, CBC News broadcast a reporter by journalist Margaret Evans chronicling the preservation of the “cultural heritage” of Palestinians, highlighted by a new exhibit on display at the Palestinian History Museum in Ramallah. That’s certainly what the Palestinian History Museum itself attempts to do. It would be hard to find a more appropriate metaphor for the Palestinian propensity to erase the Jewish history and connection to the land and claim it for their own. What ancient artifacts from the Palestinian culture are being displayed to demonstrate this long-standing and tragic history of a people displaced? CBC News would perhaps do well to take a page from the Israel Museum and look to a message of inclusivity, coexistence and hope, rather than continuing to fan the flames of anti-Israel hatred and Palestinian victimhood.

Canada's privacy commissioner has launched an investigation into a cybersecurity breach at Ticketmaster after an attack by a hacker group compromised the personal information of millions of customers around the world. The privacy commissioner's office said Ticketmaster holds the personal information of millions of Canadians. The investigation will examine the company's security safeguards and whether it complied with breach notification requirements, the office said. It will also probe whether Ticketmaster was in compliance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act. A sports arbitration court on Wednesday dismissed Canada's appeal of a six-point penalty against its Olympic women's soccer team in the wake of a drone spying scandal. The Court of Arbitration for Sport said its panel of three arbitrators rejected the appeal by Canadian Olympic Committee and Canada Soccer following a closed-door hearing on Tuesday. The COC and Canada Soccer issued a joint statement thanking the court for its quick work. Customers worldwide were unable to connect with Microsoft's 365 services and its cloud platform Azure on Tuesday, a problem the company says it is investigating and which has now been partly resolved. According to Downdetector, an online outage tracker, the number of reports related to Microsoft services surged to more than 200 just before 9 a.m. Problems with its Microsoft 365 administration centre and its coding tool collection Power Platform were resolved. Azure, which is Microsoft's brand for cloud services, is a giant in the industry, said Carmi Levy, a technology analyst based in London, Ont. It's the technology that underpins most of Microsoft's services, including Office 365, Teams, Bing and Xbox, he said.
