The federal NDP candidate and riding executives in Guelph sent a letter blaming “white fragility” for the removal of an Ontario MPP from the provincial NDP caucus after a falling out over her offensive comments about the Hamas terrorist attacks against Israel on Oct. 7. The letter was co-signed by several local leaders of the federal NDP in Guelph, including Janice Folk-Dawson, who was acclaimed as the federal NDP’s candidate for Guelph in September. “The decision to remove (Jama) from the caucus has now completely overshadowed the anti-democratic, anti-free speech, punitive censorship by the Ford government,” the Guelph letter read. Administrator | Jan 25, 2024 | Comments 0The Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board has changed the date of the professional activity (PA) day in April to Monday, April 8, from Friday, April 12. Prior to making this decision the board consulted neighbouring school boards, Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board, and Limestone District School Board, as well as Tri-Board Transportation. It is felt that combining the PA Day with the date of the eclipse will likely provide the least amount of disruption to families. The change does not add another PA Day to the school year, it is only a change to the date.
