OTTAWA (IQNA) – Montreal Police have arrested a man as they launch investigation into a mosque vandalism. The windows of Imam Warch mosque are smashed and boarded up. Montreal police say they have arrested a man and the hate crimes unit is investigating. Another photo taken from inside showed a rock or chunk of concrete on the mosque's carpet, surrounded by shards of broken glass. The Canadian Muslim Forum issued a statement condemning the vandalism and expressing concern over acts of aggression against Muslim institutions.

Local currency debt defaults also rose, but from a small base. The increase to US$13.7 billion from US$275 million in 2021 largely reflected a US$13.5 billion default by Ghana, its first since 1982.

Now, Drecun is warning other Meridian Credit Union customers to check their Equifax credit scores after learning an error within the credit reporting company had duplicated a maxed-out credit card. Equifax Canada told CBC Toronto a technology change had duplicated credit cards on some Meridian customers' credit rating reports. He's concerned about other Meridian customers who may not know their credit could be affected. Equifax says the error has affected the credit ratings of some Meridian Credit Union customers, and that it hopes to have things fixed by September. Drecun's credit rating with Equifax climbed slightly from 526 to 549 after he paid some money to another credit card.
