But after a court application from SRRACS and the Sinixt, a judge has granted an interim injunction as the groups seek a court ruling that mandates an environmental certificate. But the company amended its application in 2024 to propose a capacity of 63,500 tonnes per year, which does not meet the 75,000-tonne threshold requiring an environmental assessment.

A north-central Edmonton community league says it's in a “precarious financial position” after the loss of nearly $300,000 over a two-year period.
