The Houthis "carried out the third military operation... targeting sensitive Israeli enemy targets... with a barrage of ballistic missiles", military spokesman Yahya Saree said in a video statement. "This operation was conducted jointly with our mujahideen brothers in Iran and Hezbollah in Lebanon," he added.

Revenues in Greater China fell again in Tuesday's batch of results, this time by seven percent. Nike executives cautioned that they would see a rise in inventories in EMEA in the fourth quarter. Shares of Nike sank 9.1 percent in after-hours trading.

The NASA mission dubbed Artemis 2 has been years in the making after facing repeated setbacks, but is finally scheduled to take off from Florida as early as April 1 at 6:24 pm (2224 GMT). The journey marks a series of historic accomplishments: it will send the first person of color, the first woman and the first non-American on a lunar mission. It is also the inaugural crewed flight of NASA's new lunar rocket, dubbed SLS. But repeated setbacks stalled the mission and even necessitated rolling the rocket back to its hangar for analysis and repairs. "We'll have to monitor those feisty cumulus clouds and potentially a few showers and breezes as well," Mark Burger, the launch weather officer, said Tuesday.

SYDNEY, April 1, 2026 (BSS/AFP) - Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will make a rare address to the nation across television and radio networks on Wednesday, outlining Canberra's response to the Middle East conflict. Albanese will make the address at 7:00 pm Canberra time (0800 GMT) and is expected to urge Australians to save fuel for industries that need it. "Australia didn't choose this war, they are paying the price for this war at the petrol bowser and more broadly," he told reporters. Australia said Monday it would also halve a fuel tax to help motorists experiencing soaring petrol prices. Australia, a US security ally, last month sent an electronic surveillance aircraft to help defend the United Arab Emirates.

Portugal down US 2-0 as World Cup hosts again fail to shineLOS ANGELES, United States, April 1, 2026 (BSS/AFP) - Bruno Fernandes picked apart the United States defense to hand Portugal a 2-0 win Tuesday over the World Cup hosts, who again failed to deliver against top-tier opponents ahead of this summer's tournament. "Always [it] is the hope the first time is going to be in the World Cup," he said, after the game. For the second half, Pochettino reverted to a more traditional formation with the arrival of striker Patrick Agyemang, who had scored against Belgium. The World Cup kicks off on June 11. Despite back-to-back friendly losses, Pochettino said the only way to improve before the intense pressure of a home World Cup was to test his less vaunted side against daunting opposition.
