The first case against Sheikh Hasina was filed in the reconstituted tribunal on charges of crimes against humanity during the July mass uprising. Twenty-nine people have been arrested in a special drive conducted by police in Narayanganj ahead of a programme announced by the Awami League, whose activities remain officially banned. Narayanganj Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) Tarek Al Mehdi said the arrestees are leaders and activists of the Awami League and its affiliated organisations. They were planning sabotage focusing on the Awami League programme. Additionally, at least seven Awami League leaders and activists have been arrested in Rupganj Upazila. Rupganj Police chief Tariqul Islam said the arrested individuals were travelling to Dhaka to help make the programme called by the Awami League successful.

Bangladesh is set to construct a container port on the banks of the Karnaphuli River, with Denmark-based APM Terminals selected to both build and operate the Laldia Port for 30 years under a public–private partnership. As a signing payment, APM Terminals will pay Tk 2.5 billion to the government upon finalisation of the deal, he added. The PPPA said APM Terminals will design, finance, build, and operate the Laldia facility, but its ownership will remain with the Chattogram Port Authority (CPA). According to the World Bank, APM Terminals currently operates more than 60 terminals in 33 countries and manages ports in 10 of the world’s top 20. Ashik added that workers trained under the project would also have opportunities to work at APM Terminals’ other international ports.

The Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) has expressed concerns over “human rights violations” targeting former Bangladeshi members of parliament. It cited “threats, acts of intimidation, arbitrary arrest and detention, inhumane conditions of confinement, and a lack of due process” against the former MPs. “Among them, heroic freedom fighter and former minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun died in custody on the 29th of Sept, 2025. Two young men have “confessed” to the abduction and murder of Sudipto Roy, a student of Dhaka’s Cambrian College. Sudipto, an 11th-grade student at Cambrian School and College’s Jagannathpur branch, resided at the college hostel on Shaheed Abdul Aziz Road in Bhatara. No one entered the flat until Nov 11 morning, when the tenants noticed a foul odour and alerted police.
