Based on secret information, the joint-forces led by 46-infantry brigades of the Bangladesh Army also recovered different types of sharp weapons, contraband drugs, mobile phone sets, Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) cards and Taka in cash from their possessions, it said. The arrestees along with the seized weapons and goods were handed over to the police and representatives of the Department of Narcotics Control (DNC). This special drive is being carried out by the Bangladesh Army as a part of regular patrolling and operations in different places under 'In Aid to Civil Power' to implement the directives of the Interim Government, the release added.

The envoy was speaking on India-Bangladesh relations during the ongoing Bay of Bengal Conversation organized by the Centre for Governance Studies in the capital, said a press release issued by the Indian high commission here. A man has allegedly stabbed his nephew to death during an altercation over an unpaid debt in Chattogram's Patiya Upazila. The victim, identified as 22-year-old Md Russell, was the son of Jamal Mia, said Abu Zayed Md Nazmun Nur, chief of Patiya Police Station. His uncle, Md Jalal, fled the scene after the attack, according to the police. During the confrontation, Jalal stabbed Russell in the neck, leading to his death," said Nur. Workers from Beximco Industrial Park have blocked the highway in Gazipur’s Sarabo for a second consecutive day, pressing for overdue wages. They began descending on the Chandra-Nabinagar highway in Sarabo’s Chakrabarty area from 9am on Sunday, said Saiful Islam, the chief of Kashimpur Police Station in the Gazipur Metropolitan Area.
