A special prayer was offered at the embassy’s conference room for the martyrs of the Liberation War, the persecuted women, injured freedom fighters and for the continued peace and prosperity of the country. Messages from the President, the Prime Minister, the Foreign Minister and the State Minister for Foreign Affairs were read out on the occasion. Addressing a discussion session, the ambassador paid deep tribute to the martyrs and women who suffered during the Liberation War and highlighted the historical background of Bangladesh’s independence struggle. Referring to the genocide of March 25, 1971, she said it was a heinous attempt to deprive Bangladesh of its leadership and intellectual base.

Educational institutions run by the Bangladesh Navy, including Navy School and College, Navy Anchorage School and College, and Shishu Niketan, organized essay writing and recitation competitions, discussion sessions, and prize distribution ceremonies for the winners. DHAKA, Mar 26, 2026 (BSS) - The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs today approved emergency diesel import proposals to meet the country's urgent energy demand amid the unstable global geopolitical situation. According to the decisions, approval was granted to procure 100,000 metric tons of EN590 (10 PPM) diesel from AP Energy Investments Limited through direct procurement to meet the emergency fuel requirement. The committee also approved a proposal to procure 200,000 metric tons of EN590 Euro-5 (10 PPM) diesel from Superstar International (Group) Limited through the same method. The approvals were granted to ensure uninterrupted energy supply and maintain stability in the domestic fuel market amid the evolving global geopolitical situation, said a Finance Ministry press release. Officials said the government is taking necessary measures to secure adequate fuel supply to meet the country's growing energy demand and maintain economic stability.
