Three members of a family suffered burn injuries in an explosion apparently from gas line leak at a house in Kachua upazila of Chandpur district on Wednesday. The injured were identified as Khadiza, 30, Mahmudul, 35 and Sheuli Akter, 40 of the upazila, reports UNB. The explosion occurred around 8:30am at the house, leaving three people injured. Later, they were taken to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in Dhaka. Among the injured, Khadiza received 35 percent burn injuries while Mahmudul and Sheuli received 4 percent and 2 percent burn injuries, respectively, said resident medical officer of National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery Dr Shaon Bin Rahman.

Six members of a family were killed and three others injured when unidentified armed men attacked a house in Pakistan’s southwestern Balochistan province on Wednesday, police said. The attack occurred in Buleda tehsil of Kech district, where the assailants opened indiscriminate fire and also fired a mortar round at the house, police sources said. The victims included women and children, reports UNB. The injured were taken to a nearby hospital, and some of them were reported to be in critical condition.
