Although Dos Toros isn’t exactly eating the lunch of its industry’s biggest name, publicly traded Chipotle (the Mexican food giant did $4.48 billion in revenue last year), Dos Toros represents a delicious turn of events for the Kremers. Dos Toros plugged along until 2010, when the New York Times gave the taqueria the review of a lifetime. To cope with demand, they opened the second Dos Toros in May 2011 on Carmine Street; a binge of five restaurants in 12 months followed in 2014. Fortunately, Dos Toros has offered a way to keep up his semi-charmed kind of life.
