Langley Cove project to be considered in new year

By RICK GREEN, LACONIA DAILY SUNLACONIA — Plans for 289 housing units at Langley Cove on Weirs Boulevard, which are back on the table 11 years after city officials first rejected the project, will be taken up the city Planning Board in the new year. Some members of the nearby Paugus Woods community have expressed concerns over traffic the project would generate. Planning Director Dean Trefethen said there are several outstanding issues that need to be solved before the project can go forward. Details need to be worked out on improvements to Weirs Boulevard near the proposed entrance of the development. Brady Sullivan Properties of Manchester has sought to resubmit the proposal over the years but concerns were raised regarding stormwater, traffic, water supplies and the sheer density of housing.
