Four Candidates At 2017 Presidential Debate Overwhelm Electorates, ANC, ALP, UP, LP Brag To Redeem Liberia -


The four presidential candidates who took part in the ‘Liberia 2017 Presidential Debate’ were the standard bearers of the ruling Unity Party (UP); Joseph Nyuma Boakai, the opposition Liberty Party (LP); Charles Walker Brumskine, Alternative National Congress; Alexander Benedict Cummings, and the All Liberian Party (ALP) political leader, Benoni Urey. The candidates speaking at the debate spoke highly of the level of experience they all have to rule Liberia, and further promised to uphold the principles of democracy with a society that would free of nepotism and corruption. Hundreds of supporters of the candidates were jubilantly there endlessly applauding their respective presidential candidate despite warnings from the organization to seize all sorts of jubilation while the candidates were still at the podium outlining their respective plans for the presidency. Two others including the standard bearers of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), Senator George Manneh Weah, and Dr. Joseph Mills Jones who were also expected to be part of the debate were absent with their respective party’s officials given excuses.
