Mum didn’t notice, or didn’t care, so I grabbed a dustpan and brush. Nowadays, I share a flat with my wife Lucy, and I’m tidy – perhaps obsessively so. I’m nervous of broaching this subject with Mum, as I don’t want her to think I have complaints about my upbringing (I don’t).
