Fragmented from a promotional material - Event official Facebook pageCAIRO – 14 December 2017: Egyptian comedy play “Lailet Ekhtfaa’ El Nisr” (The Disappearance of the Eagle) will stage at Jesuit Cultural Center in Alexandria on December 20.Directed by Ahmed Askar “Lailet Ekhtfaa’ El Nisr” will be performed by the Masrah Iskendria theatrical group.Presented in a humorous fictional way, the play portrays the consequences of the disappearance of the Egyptian eagle emblem, which is printed on official government documents.The play, based on the book by Omar Taher, entitled “Rasf Masr” (2010), sheds light on the notion of what happens when any Egyptian official document is not authenticated with the famous eagle stamp.Also printed on the Egyptian flag, the eagle refers to home and emphasizes idealistic values. While the red color of the flag symbolizes the social A class, white presents the middle class, and black reflects the lower class.The upcoming performance is a part of the PerForm Forum events taking place from December 13 to December 21.
