Chaplains at prisons including Mountjoy will help inmates to adapt to life in jail PAThe Irish Prison Service is to spend up to €120,000 recruiting chaplains to look after inmates. In addition to encouraging prayer and running religious services, chaplains will help inmates to adapt to prison life and prepare them to re-enter society after they are released. The chaplains will work to promote respect between prisoners and staff and encourage inmates to make positive changes to their lifestyle. There are full-time three-year contracts available for chaplains at the prisons at Arbour Hill, Cork and Limerick and two each at the Mountjoy campus and the West Dublin prison campus.
