While the stock market was quiet, precious metals — considered havens amid uncertainty — soared higher, continuing a recent surge. Gold was up 5.4% and hit an all-time high above $5,350 a troy ounce. Silver soared 10% and traded around $116 a troy ounce. Silver is up roughly 65% so far this year and on pace for its best month since 1979.

LOADING ERROR LOADINGThe next major round of “No Kings” protests against President Donald Trump’s administration will take place on March 28, organizers said Wednesday, and will feature a flagship event in Minnesota’s Twin Cities. “From Alex Pretti to Renee Good to the tens of thousands showing up in subzero weather, we are also seeing a massive movement of brave people standing up for their neighbors and against this regime.”The next round of “No Kings” protests will have a flagship event in Minneapolis. Previous rounds of “No Kings” protests have drawn sharp criticism from the GOP, with House Speaker Mike Johnson dubbing them “Hate America” rallies, and other Republicans suggesting the events would turn violent. “Peacefully protesting by the thousands, delivering groceries to their immigrant neighbors, driving friends to doctor appointments, walking children to school - this is what organizing looks like.”It’s not immediately clear what the “flagship” event in Minneapolis will involve. During the October protests, more than 200,000 people attended a rally at the National Mall that featured speeches from Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and other progressive leaders.
