LOADING ERROR LOADINGKevin Hassett, President Donald Trump’s top economic adviser, made an incredible reach in an attempt to justify a debunked claim about the Trump administration reducing the cost of a Thanksgiving dinner. AdvertisementEarlier this month, Trump took credit for what he claimed was Walmart announcing that “Prices for a Thanksgiving Dinner is now down 25% since under Sleepy/Crooked Joe Biden, in 2024.”But as detailed in a HuffPost analysis, Walmart had not made any comparisons to Thanksgiving prices last year. Since the president launched a trade war by slapping steep tariffs on imported goods, inflation has remained stubbornly high. “It’s hilarious to watch Trumpworld tell poor people to stop complaining Trump has made everything more expensive,” Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) wrote on X. said. Trump has ripped sitting Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, calling the central bank chief a “numbskull” for not cutting interest rates quickly enough.

LOADING ERROR LOADINGWASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump said Wednesday’s “heinous assault” on two National Guard members near the White House proves that lax migration policies are “the single greatest national security threat facing our nation.”“No country can tolerate such a risk to our very survival,” he said. With aggressive deportation efforts already underway, his response to the shooting showed that his focus will not waver. AdvertisementThe suspect in the shooting is believed to be an Afghan national, according to Trump and two law enforcement officials. The focus has involved the realignment of resources at federal agencies, stirring concern about potentially undermining other law enforcement priorities. Effective immediately, processing of all immigration requests relating to Afghan nationals is stopped indefinitely pending further review of security and vetting protocols.

A few hours earlier, my newborn son had passed away less than 30 minutes after I had given birth. In that hospital hallway, although I’d physically survived, something in me turned off so I could mentally survive. It was explained to me that these terminations weren’t the violent, graphic act often plastered on “pro-life” posters, but merely an early induction and delivery, with palliative care for a baby that wouldn’t survive. Going to work and running errands as a young woman with a baby who will die is torturous. My body was postpartum and confused without a baby, and that in itself was painful and confusing.

In August, Hart launched the 30-day challenge: Say “hi,” “hey,” or “hello” to one stranger every day for a month. “Let’s say you finally say ‘hi’ to someone in your fitness class. And yes, my nervous system learned to read those flutters in my body as a sign of excitement rather than danger. Homburger said this response makes sense because “when we engage in small social interactions, we experience pleasure through our dopamine reward pathways. AdvertisementA pet-nup is typically a contractual agreement over who should care for a pet in the event of a relationship ending. When there is no pet-nup, Cohen said he needs to sift through text messages, social media posts and witness statements to prove pet ownership and enforce an agreement. AdvertisementYou don’t need to be married to benefit from a pet-nup agreement. “There are people who will stay in bad relationships because they don’t want to lose a pet,” Cohen said. He noted that, in general, simply writing a pet-nup agreement in a notebook with your signatures could be helpful later on.

LOADING ERROR LOADINGPresident Donald Trump has been on a tear the past two weeks with vicious attacks on the people who get under his skin most: journalists. While Trump has long had a fraught relationship with the press, his affronts lately have skewed highly personal and degrading toward female journalists, for whom he regularly reserves his most below-the-belt insults. AdvertisementHis Wednesday morning screed took aim at New York Times reporter Katie Rogers, one of two journalists who worked on a Tuesday story about the president’s health, aging and reduced public appearances. “You don’t have to embarrass our guest by asking a question like that,” Trump scolded Bruce as he sat alongside Mohammed. Advertisement“It’s not the question that I mind; it’s your attitude,” Trump fired at Bruce.

AdvertisementThe Trump administration unveiled a 28-point peace plan last week to end the Russia-Ukraine war. Trump set a Thanksgiving deadline for Ukraine to respond, alarming traditional U.S. allies in Europe, including Kyiv itself. The proposal was reportedly drafted by Trump envoy Steve Witkoff, Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner, and Kirill Dmitriev, an envoy for Russian President Vladimir Putin, during meetings in Miami, according to Axios. Putin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Wednesday it’s “premature” to comment on whether an end to the war is near. “Well, they’re making concessions,” Trump told reporters on Air Force One Tuesday.

LOADING ERROR LOADINGWASHINGTON ― Two Republican senators spoke up in defense of their Democratic colleague, Sen. Mark Kelly of Arizona, as the Trump administration seeks to punish him in response to a video he recorded last week, noting the military can defy illegal orders. AdvertisementThe FBI has also gotten involved by seeking to interview Kelly and the other Democratic lawmakers with its own probe, another highly unusual move in this saga. Appearing on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Tuesday, Kelly called Hegseth “totally unqualified” for the job of defense secretary. AdvertisementTrump’s threats have only served to elevate Kelly within the Democratic Party. In recent months, the DOJ has brought criminal charges against three prominent critics of the president, though a judge this week dismissed two of those cases.
