“And I’m having fun with it, I’m not gonna lie.”Nearly 10 years before teaming up for the Lakers, Rui Hachimura and Deandre Ayton were just teenaged prospects with big dreams. Clint Capela will get the start and match up with Deandre Ayton. — 3/16/2026 x.comDave McMenamin: Deandre Ayton averaged 14.3 points on 71.4% and 10 rebounds in the Lakers’ last three games after leaving the DEN game early and missing IND. “The speed with which American democracy is currently dismantled is unprecedented in modern history,” one of the world’s top democracy researchers says in a new report. The researchers compile detailed datasets and produce “liberal democracy index” scores for 202 countries and territories altogether. Many aspects relate to freedom of expression. V-Dem calls government censorship of the media the “preferred weapon of choice” for dictators and aspiring autocrats around the world. And, to be sure, the group’s rankings for freedom of expression in the US remain far higher than in most countries.

Sen. Markwayne Mullin, nominee to be Secretary of Homeland Security, testifies on Wednesday. Mullin indicated his leadership style would differ from Noem’s in several ways:He said he would admit mistakes. (And then he did)During his opening statement, Mullin said he would admit when he was wrong — something Noem never did during her tenure as DHS secretary. Under Noem’s leadership, immigration officers participated in highly visible enforcement operations that at times were unfocused and led to tense clashes in several cities. That would reverse a policy under Noem’s leadership that allowed immigration officers to enter homes and businesses with less restrictive administrative warrants.

Members of the largest unions representing teachers and nonteachers participate in joint rally at Grand Park in March 2023. The scene will be repeated on Wednesday, with union members once again on the verge of a strike. With contract negotiations at a standstill, leaders of the Los Angeles teachers union are widely expected on Wednesday to announce the date of a strike that, if carried out, would interrupt the education of about 390,000 students. In late January, union members voted overwhelmingly to give their leadership the authority to call a strike at its discretion. That union’s members also have authorized their union’s leaders to call a strike at their discretion.

Im guessing the critical people of the WNBA in this thread also probably dont like the NBA and are critical of its product (amazing and thriving FYI). In fact, I watch way more WNBA than I do college sports because I hate the college landscape and theyve lost me as a fan at present. For those who seem to care about "sunk costs" and "subsidizing," what does that say about USC? Should we just say all other sports are sunk costs as well and just not have them? I am not sure of the argument that people are trying to make other than to project their hate of the NBA (Lebron amiright?)
