The Trump administration will need to unfreeze more than $16 billion earmarked for a major New York infrastructure project by Thursday unless a federal appeals court allows the government to continue withholding the funds, a federal judge ruled Monday. The administration has until then to unfreeze the funds if it isn’t successful in convincing the Second Circuit Court of Appeals that it should be able to withhold the money. New Jersey and New York filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration last week over the freeze, alleging in a complaint that the funding suspension is unlawful. The commission in charge of the tunnel project has warned that it will soon have to shut down work and lay off roughly 1,000 workers if the Trump administration does not release the funding it needs. Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One on Friday night it was Schumer’s idea to rename Penn Station to “Trump station,” but the New York Democrat immediately dismissed the president’s claim and accused him of lying about the details of their conversation.

President Donald Trump has published new renderings of “the finest Ballroom ever built anywhere in the World,” and suggested the $400 million White House project will play a big role in American civic life. It's unclear whether he's referring to actual presidential inaugurations, which take place at the U.S. Capitol, or other events aligned with the swearing-in ceremony. The inauguration has been held at other sites in American history, according to the Library of Congress. “Although the Constitution includes the inaugural oath, it does not dictate where that oath should take place,” it states. Whether Trump has the power to determine the venue of future inaugurations also appears to be an open question.

In her ruling Monday, Snyder blocked only the ban on masking by federal agents, and on seemingly narrow grounds. Snyder said that the court “finds that federal officers can perform their federal functions without wearing masks. I feel like that was, for better or worse, the live rendition of the commercial beforehand. There was the Bad Bunny Apple commercial saying, “The world will dance.” It featured Bad Bunny dancing with an array of different kinds of people, different ages, different races. – We often think of these halftime shows as broadcasts out to the world. They’re to the television, they’re to half a billion or a billion people. I mean, obviously there’s cameras and you’re seeing it on television, but they’re surrounded by plants.

A jury in DC convicted Bannon of contempt of Congress in 2022 after he failed to provide documents and testimony to the House select committee that investigated the Capitol attack. The Department of Justice on Monday also asked the high court to wipe away the appeals court’s judgement. The second, former Trump White House aide Peter Navarro, also served prison time for his 2023 conviction. The records, released by the Justice Department and House Oversight Committee, reveal a close personal relationship — and show Epstein’s deep involvement in Bannon’s ambitions on the world stage. Bannon’s team did not mount a defense during the brief trial, and he did not take the stand.
