MLS begins the 2026 season this weekend and it finds itself “at the intersection of two seismic forces: a World Cup returning to North America and riding the wave of Lionel Messi mania,” according to Frank Pingue of REUTERS. He said, “Would I love to see Vini here? Would I love to see Mbappé here? I think that some of the great players in the world want to play in the US, and that’s the game changer.” Riddell & Levy note MLS has seen a “succession of top-tier international stars play in the league” including former soccer player and Inter Miami owner David Beckham. But it was the “stunning signing of Messi ... that turned heads like never before.” Garber now is “confident that a marquee signing will choose to form part of MLS in the prime of their career” (CNN.com, 2/20).

Now that the Supreme Court has taken away the bulk of President Donald Trump’s tariff-wielding authority, what does that mean for your prices? That’s because Trump has other tariff levers to pull. The Supreme Court noted other authorities remain available to Trump, including the laws that permitted the administration to raise significant tariffs on steel, aluminum and other imports – all of which remain in place. Erica York, vice president of federal tax policy at the Tax Foundation, said the tariffs that remain in place will still amount to a $400 tax hike per household in 2026. But she noted that many companies paid the tariffs and did not pass the bulk of the tariff costs on to consumers.

Wuthering Heights director Emerald Fennell with actors Jacob Elordi and Margot Robbie Anthony Harvey/ShutterstockHowever, while much has been made in the media of the film’s sexually-charged content, it should be noted that, unlike Saltburn, Emerald’s Wuthering Heights doesn’t actually contain any nudity, which she said was a deliberate choice on her part. Columbia Creek Tennessee Whiskey has debuted in Columbia, Tennessee, as a new brand from SNL Alcohol Beverage Group. The non-chill filtered whiskey is bottled at 95.6 proof and is available now via the brand’s website and select retailers in key markets. It is “distilled in a traditional column‑and‑doubler system,” a production setup commonly used across American whiskey for consistency and scale. The brand also highlighted that it follows the Lincoln County Process, stating: “Before barreling, the whiskey undergoes the slow, time-honored Lincoln County charcoal mellowing process.” This charcoal filtration method is a key differentiator for Tennessee whiskey, and is widely associated with the category’s identity compared with bourbon. “Future releases include Barrel Strength and Single Barrel editions,” it said, positioning the planned expressions as “proof that real Tennessee whiskey doesn’t cut corners.”Tennessee whiskey is a defined American whiskey style typically made in Tennessee using new charred oak and charcoal mellowing, and has seen continued premiumization in recent years through higher-proof and single-barrel releases—two formats Columbia Creek has now confirmed are in development.

Everyone agrees that a spill of nearly 250 million gallons of raw sewage is an ecological emergency and an environmental disaster. Drinking water was not affected by the rupture, according to DC Water. Authorities have scrambled to slow the spill and divert sewage into the area’s historic canal system. Moore argued the federal government is already responsible since the pipe in question belongs to DC Water and sits on federal land. Environmental Protection Agency head Lee Zeldin was more even-keeled about the sewage spill in his description of the disaster in a Tuesday tweet.
