According to management consultancy McKinsey & Co, driven by IoT technology, global factories could generate between US$1.4 trillion and $3.3 trillion by 2030. DTAC has the opportunity to work with aluminium vehicle parts maker Daisin and Nectec to develop a smart factory prototype, which could be followed by other factories in Thailand, he said. Thanin Leegomonchai, president of Daisin, pointed out in the wake of the pandemic, the company has seen the importance of technology and automation which could transform it into a smart factory. Mr Krit pointed out the collaboration is the first stepping stone for Daisin to become a smart factory by embracing Internet of Things, 5G and data analytics to unlock the potential for a smart factory which draws together automation, efficiency, productivity and insight.

REUTERSAdvertisers are treading carefully when it comes to peddling their products and services during February's Beijing Winter Olympics, which have been shrouded by criticism over China's human-rights record. The Olympic Games are typically a chance for the world's biggest brands to pitch their products and services to a large global audience. Companies spent more than $920 million on national TV ads that aired on Comcast Corp.'s NBCUniversal during the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea. During the meeting, brands were asked to use their influence to insist on improvement in human rights in China. For me, the best learning often comes from an unexpected source. They figure out the people and community they can learn from most effectively and get up to speed. My company organises a very inspiring 7,000-strong learning community, but your community can be your team, company or network. You arrange a meeting with another team in your community, and you take the time to explore and learn about their work and world. If you have a new success, breakthrough or insight, and you know enough about your community members, then arrange to go and tell them about it.

In several provinces, local Taliban authorities have been persuaded to reopen schools -- but many girls still remain cut off from secondary education. JOHANNESBURG: South African anti-apartheid icon Desmond Tutu, described as the country's moral compass, died on Sunday aged 90, President Cyril Ramaphosa said. "The passing of Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu is another chapter of bereavement in our nation's farewell to a generation of outstanding South Africans who have bequeathed us a liberated South Africa," he said in a statement. "Desmond Tutu was a patriot without equal; a leader of principle and pragmatism who gave meaning to the biblical insight that faith without works is dead," he said. It was Tutu who coined and popularised the term "Rainbow Nation" to describe South Africa when Nelson Mandela became the country's first black president.
