The location for Tata Group’s first battery cell gigafactory outside India has been decided. Agratas, Tata’s battery subsidiary, just announced Gravity Smart Campus near Bridgwater in the south-west English county of Somerset as the location. The almost five-billion-US-dollar battery production facility will start its production in 2026. Investments of several billion British pounds are planned to bring state-of-the-art technology to Somerset and support the UK’s transition to electric mobility. Batteries also planned for other applicationsThe gigafactory will serve Tata itself and its British subsidiary JLR as customers.
