President William Ruto has outlined several initiatives they have taken as a government to mitigate the severe consequences of heavy rains pounding the country. The head of state said the country must act swiftly and decisively to mitigate the devastating impacts of the present crisis and protect life and property. Ruto also appealed to Kenyans not to dare Mother Nature as the country continues to experience heavy rains almost daily. The number rose to 210 after an additional 22 deaths were reported as a result of the floods. The total number of schools affected by the heavy rains stands at 1,967.
