While the Maple Leafs continue to battle for respectability during these Stanley Cup playoffs, it appears GM Kyle Dubas may be in a similar battle of his own. Dubas, as it has been well-documented, is in the final year of his original five-year contract. “I fully expect to be judged on the full body of my work over the five-year term of my contract. But as the stakes are raised with every Leafs win, there are the complexities of what a full body of work means to Dubas, MLSE and, ultimately, Leafs fans. Add Leafs assistant GM Brandon Pridham, known for his salary cap analysis and who Dubas promoted weeks after he was named GM, to that mix.
