1974: Robots and Wombles were among the entries in a fancy dress competition at Ellington Infants School. Maidenhead was left mainly untouched, but a disused barn at Orchard Farm in Littlewick Green was left in ruins. 1999: In an effort to encourage reading, the Royal Borough devised the Dads into School day as part of a broader literacy initiative called Kick-Off.
