Kindiki orders transfer of officers with more than 3 years in one stationInterior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki says the government has started transferring police officers who have served in one station for more than three years. Speaking in Murang’a during a meeting with the county security team on Friday, Kindiki alluded that officers who have overstayed in one station could create a conflict of interest that could frustrate the fight against alcoholism, drug abuse and other criminal activities. It has also been found that some of our security officers have invested in the liquor business and we want to stop this,” the CS added. Kindiki revealed that some officers who have overstayed in their stations become entitled, often leading to insubordination and even threatening their superiors. He said the three-year transfer applies to officers from all agencies who have been in one place in Kenya for more than three years, saying it is a directive from the government and must be followed.
