Chopper carrying Isaac Mwaura makes emergency landing in KikuyuA helicopter carrying government spokesman Isaac Mwaura and Kenya Red Cross secretary-general Idriss Ahmed Tuesday made an emergency landing in Gishungo, Kikuyu constituency, due to bad weather. In a statement, Mr Mwaura said the pilot’s concern for the welfare of those on board was the reason for the emergency landing. Our plane had to make an emergency landing in Gishungo, Kikuyu Constituency due to bad weather conditions,” he said, adding that they were on their way from Nyando in Kisumu County where floods had displaced hundreds of people. In a video shared on X by government spokesman handle, Mwaura asks the police to secure the plain until weather conditions allow the pilot to fly it back. Most parts of the country are experiencing persistent rains which have caused flooding and displaced thousands of people.
