Important world events:1870 - The first Egyptian National Library & Archives and its statutes were established, and a new page of Egypt's intellectual history began. 1937 - King Farouk is officially crowned king of Egypt. 1957 - The International Atomic Energy Agency is established. 1958 - The establishment of the US space agency – NASA.
