CAIRO - 16 August 2023: The Egyptian National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority is considering licensing mobile operators to launch the eSIM service in the near future. This step comes after all telecom companies have finished preparing their networks and conducting operational tests, to ensure that the service is fully provided to customers in the local market. The National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority is scheduled to announce, soon, the details of the regulatory determinants and technical requirements for launching the service in Egypt, to provide the latest technical and advanced solutions to improve the services provided to mobile users in Egypt. It also allows users to store multiple profiles on one device, with two or more numbers, and switch between them without any hassle. According to data from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the number of mobile subscribers reached 102.9 million by the end of April 2023, compared to 96.27 million subscribers during the same month last year, with an annual growth rate of 6.78%, and compared to 102.77 million subscribers in March of this year, with a monthly growth rate of 0.13 %.
