EDF Renewables North America has inked a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Southern California Public Power Authority (SCPPA) for a segment of the Bonanza Solar and Storage initiative. This agreement captures the commitment to provide a steady supply of carbon-free electricity from the project’s 125 MWac solar photovoltaic (PV) setup and 65 MW 4-hour Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) to SCPPA’s members, including Pasadena Water & Power and Azusa Light & Water. Situated in Clark County, Nevada, the Bonanza Solar and Storage project will boast a combined capacity of 300 MWac solar PV and 195 MW 4-hour BESS. Situated in the arid expanse of the southern Nevada desert on federal land, the Project anticipates generating around 500 employment opportunities at the height of construction. Acknowledging the significance of preserving wildlife, habitats, and environmental assets, the Bonanza Solar and Storage project is engaged in close cooperation with federal and state agencies to mitigate its impacts on the ecosystem.
