The Bangladesh Labour Party has been officially registered with the Election Commission (EC) with the pineapple symbol following a court order. The Labour Party is currently part of a joint movement with the BNP. He added that the Labour Party aims to introduce a “new direction” in politics and will soon announce some candidates. According to the registration certificate, the EC has registered the party in compliance with the Representation of the People Order (RPO) following a High Court ruling. Earlier this year, the Bangladesh Minority Janata Party also received registration by court order.
