DHAKA, Oct 16, 2024 (BSS) - The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized smuggled goods at Sylhet frontier today, said a BGB press release signed by Sylhet Battalion (48 BGB) Commander Lt. Col Md Hafizur Rahman. “The BGB personnel seized 108 pieces of Indian saree, 2430 pieces of Nivea soft cream, 1415 Practin syrup, 1500 kgs of sugar, 1680 packets of bidis, 7440 pieces betel nuts, 750 soaps and 590 kg of Bangladeshi garlic, two illegal stone quarrying boats and other goods from the border area,” release said. The estimated costs of the seized goods are about Taka 42.15 lakh. None was detained in this connection, the BGB added.
