Crime & Punishment of Monday, 19 January 2026Source: www.ghanaweb.comThe Central East Regional Police Command has arrested three individuals suspected of being part of an organised car-stealing syndicate operating in Kasoa and its environs. “The complainant released the vehicle to suspects Douglas Kwame Akunnor and Emmanuel Aduah after his account was credited. Following investigations, Emmanuel Aduah was arrested on January 2, 2026, while attempting to unblock his SIM card in the Western Region. Further interrogation led to the arrest of Douglas Akunnor, who reportedly confessed to the crime and demonstrated how the operation was carried out. Efforts are underway to arrest Albert Akwasi Ofori, who is believed to be the mastermind behind the crime, to face justice,” the statement read.
