Source: phys.orgNew England's landscape is known for many things, such as the brilliant diversity of colorful foliage on display each autumn. It is at this time of the year when another iconic landscape feature re-emerges as the leaves fall—thousands of miles of stone walls. Sometimes sinuous, sometimes geometric, stone walls are a signature feature of the New England landscape, a latticework of bare rock in an otherwise plant-covered world. When viewing them up close, it becomes clear that stone walls are also vital features of the ecosystem, with an abundance of creatures making their homes in and around them.
NASA Administrator Bill Nelson got a look late last month at what Blue Origin is building in Huntsville, Alabama, to take us to the surface of the moon. Blue Moon, as Jeff Bezos’ commercial space company Blue Origin has named it, is one of two lunar landers selected and purchased by NASA (SpaceX is the other) for more money than most of us will ever see in a lifetime: $3.4 billion. Right now, we’re still working toward launching Artemis II, which is expected to send astronauts around the moon and back to Earth, not to the moon. Artemis III is supposed to be the first landing of astronauts on the moon using SpaceX’s lunar lander - the mega-rocket Starship. And I continue to track NASA’s SLS as the Artemis I Moon Rocket is readied for rollout and first flight.

Save the Children – I View(s):Sri Lanka is beset by an alarming crisis that is receiving scant attention from policymakers: online violence against and exploitation of children, including the production and widespread dissemination of child porn, cyber extortion, receiving indecent text messages, cyberbullying, and even online gambling for children among a string of other crimes. Three out of 10 Sri Lankan children face some type of online violence, a 2021 study by Save the Children organisation has found. Law enforcement agencies in Sri Lanka say the complaints roll in every day and are piling up. While Sri Lanka has ratified all the necessary UN conventions and optional protocols, domestic legislation has not been brought in line. Save the Children – IIWhile the rest of the world is growing increasingly concerned about the dangerous impact of online crime targeting children, Palestinian children in Gaza face a much bigger immediate danger; getting targeted and killed by the Israeli Air Force.

(NewsNation) — A new study found more than half of parents with kids aged 9 to 15 worried about internet addiction, with social media and gaming being the top areas of concern. Despite those responses, parents were still worried about internet addiction. Researchers also asked parents about their concerns regarding substance addiction in their children in comparison to fears about internet addiction. Roughly a third of parents (34.9%) had no concerns at all about internet addiction or substance addictions, while a similar number (32.9%) were equally worried about addictions to the internet and to substances. Just 22.4% said they were only concerned about internet addiction and 9.8% worried only about substance addiction.
