Police officers subdue a drunken man with a knife in Amoy Gardens in Kowloon Bay on Tuesday evening. Officers were called at about 6 pm to the Amoy Gardens after residents said a knife-wielding man was acting irrationally. It was learned that the man was heading to the Amoy Plaza before being taken down by the police with riot shields. Photos circulated online showed that 7 to 8 officers subdued him on the ground. The man, said to be drunk, was arrested on suspicion of possessing offensive weapons and was taken to United Christian Hospital for evaluation.

An airbridge collapsed at the Hong Kong International Airport on Monday night, but fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. A drunk man who was trapped near stone barriers on the Tsing Yi shores was rescued and hospitalized early Monday morning. Around 2 am today, an approximately 40-year-old man who was drinking near the shores of the Maritime Square located on Tsing King Road crossed the fence and went to the stone barriers near the shores. He could not get back to the pedestrian path, and passersby who noticed the incident, contacted the police for assistance. The paramedics arrived and assisted the man in returning to a safe location. The man then lost consciousness due to the effects of alcohol and was taken to the hospital for medical attention.
