In an online statement Monday, the Shanghai Public Health Clinical Center said that Zhang’s lab was closed for “safety reasons” while being renovated. The next day, Zhang’s lab was ordered to close temporarily by China’s top health official, and Zhang came under pressure from the authorities.

A 37-year-old mainlander – allegedly linked to two burglaries on Lantau Island – was suspected to have been beaten to death as his body was found on Chi Ma Wan Peninsula in the early hours of Wednesday. Police received a report at 5.39 am that the mainland man, who arrived in Hong Kong on a two-way permit, was found unconscious at a private pier on Chi Ma Wan Peninsula. After an investigation, police suspect that the mainlander was assaulted by the attacker with bare hands and sustained a sever injury to his head. Police later received two reports at 7.16 am and 7.36 am respectively that two units at Yi Long Wan on Chi Ma Wan Road and at Sea Ranch were looted of a bag and some cash. After a preliminary investigation, police suspect that the deceased mainland man was the burglar and an investigation by the Lantau district crime squad is now underway.

Bitcoin not invented by computer scientist Wright — courtLONDON, United Kingdom — Australian computer scientist Craig Wright is not "Satoshi Nakamoto", the pseudonym used by the creator of the cryptocurrency bitcoin when it launched in 2008, a UK court ruled Thursday. "Dr Wright is not the person who adopted or operated under the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto in the period 2008 to 2011." The judge added: "Dr Wright is not the person who created the bitcoin system... he is not the author of the initial versions of the bitcoin software." PSA reports 60% of national IDs printedMANILA, Philippines — Still don't have the printed version of your national ID? The Philippine Statistics Authority said on Friday that it has already completed printing over 60% of the "physical cards" of national identification cards (IDs). PSA Deputy National Statistician Fred Sollesta said that as of March 15, about 54 million physical copies of the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) IDs have been printed. "If you look at the numbers, it's already overlapping and they are already using it in transactions," Sollesta said in Filipino. The PSA official added that the electronic and physical versions of the national ID have the same functions.
