Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif says attacks on state installations on May 9 were carried out by PTI miscreants through proper planning. Talking to the media outside Jinnah House in Lahore on Friday, he said Imran Khan never missed an opportunity to target the Pakistan Army. The Defence Minister said the saddest part is that the rare photos of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah were burnt and the statues of those who sacrificed their lives for the nation were broken.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Friday said that May 9 riots were not spontaneous attacks but rather were planned at Imran Khan's residence in Lahore's Zaman Park. This was an act of terror planned at Zaman Park," she said while addressing a PML-N Youth Convention in Vihari. "Not only your people are leaving you, they are also giving testimonies that Imran Khan was the planner of May 9 riots." She said that only Chaudhry Nisar left Nawaz Sharif who also gave testimony that Nawaz Sharif was honest. Furthermore, Maryam said that people would never forgive Imran Khan, nor the judges whom she accused of acting as facilitators for him.

Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah on Friday said that out of the 499 first information reports (FIRs) registered after the events of May 9, only six cases would be tried in military courts. During a press conference in Islamabad, the interior minister elaborated that of the six cases, two were from Punjab and four from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. He added that out of the 499 cases, 88 pertained to terrorism provisions. Referring to calls for legislation, Sana maintained that there was no need for any legislation or amendments regarding cases in military courts. The interior minister further alleged that money were being sent for Khalilzad to lobby in the US.

According to a press release issued by the Department of Justice, in charging documents filed in United States District Court, Kelvin Battle, 53, of Anniston, Steve Bonner, 62, of Goodwater, and Shane Farthing, 41, of Gadsden are each charged with one count of conspiracy to steal United States property. Battle and Bonner are also each charged with an additional count related to specific instances of stealing or selling property stolen from ANAD. Bonner acted as a middleman, selling stolen property directly to buyers and delivering stolen property to the owner of a military surplus store in Sylacauga. According to a plea agreement, also filed today, Farthing has agreed to plead guilty to a conspiracy to steal United States property.

The Army Chief made these remarks while addressing the families of the martyrs during his visit to the Police Lines here in connection with Pakistan Martyrs’ Reverence Day (Youm-e-Takreem-e-Shuhada-e-Pakistan), an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) news release said. The Army Chief addressed the families of the police martyrs along with the officers and jawans of the Islamabad Capital Territory Police. The Army Chief said: “What happened on May 9 is very sad and condemnable. On arrival at the Police Lines, the Chief of Army Staff was received by the Inspector General of Islamabad Capital Territory Police Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan.
ISLAMABAD: Senior journalist and TV anchorperson Sami Ibrahim has gone missing from the federal capital, it emerged on Thursday. The statement added that the police would cooperate with the senior journalist’s family. According to the complainant, Ibrahim was forcibly taken by eight to 10 unidentified men, who also took three mobile phones belonging to the driver and the car keys. This is the second time Ibrahim has come under the ire of “unidentified men”. In July 2022, he was reportedly attacked and tortured by unidentified men outside his office in Islamabad.
2015-226 (the “Act”) and authorized the Jefferson County Commission to levy and distribute a one percent sales tax and a one percent use tax to benefit the public welfare and enhance the education of the children of Jefferson County. Jefferson County began levying the new taxes in or about August 2017. The Act created the Jefferson County Community Service Fund (the “Fund”), which was subsidized by approximately $3.6 million annually from the new taxes. The Act also created the Jefferson County Community Service Committee (the “Committee”), the four members of which were elected by members of the Jefferson County House and Senate delegations. Each Representative and Senator representing Jefferson County could make recommendations to the Committee of expenditures from their allotted amount of the Fund.

The All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) has criticized Indian government for resorting nefarious tactics to mislead international community about prevailing worse situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). In a statement in Srinagar, APHC said Modi regime is trying to hide its crimes by holding events like G20 meetings in the territory. Meanwhile, APHC leaders thanked China, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Oman for respecting the aspirations of Kashmiri people by boycotting the G20 meeting in Srinagar.
