From Tribune staff reportsGUNTERSVILLE — The body of an Albertville man has been recovered at Lake Guntersville after he went into the water after a dog on Saturday evening and never resurfaced, according to Sgt. “On Sunday, July 9, at approximately 9:20 a.m. Jeffrey S. Abston’s body was recovered near the same location in which he went missing in the area of South Sauty on Lake Guntersville in Jackson County,” Burkett said. “Abston went into the water on Lake Guntersville in the South Sauty area near Robert Davis Road in Jackson County,” Burkett said. Burkett said the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Jackson County Rescue Squad, Cherokee County Rescue Squad, Langston Fire Department, Scottsboro Search and Rescue, along with the Guntersville Rescue Squad assisted in the effort. No further information is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Marine Patrol Division continue to investigate.

ISLAMABAD-The 56th death anniversary of Madar-e-Millat Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah was observed with great respect and reverence where the nation paid rich tribute to her outstanding efforts in the fight for Pakistan’s founding father Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. After obtaining a dental degree from Kolkata University, she accompanied Muhammad Ali Jinnah taking active participation in politics. During the transfer of power in 1947, Jinnah formed the Women Relief Committee, which later formed the nucleus for the All Pakistan Women’ Association (APWA).

Jamaat-e-Islami chief Sirajul Haq said on Sunday the incumbent coalition government failed to deliver on promises. The State Bank of Pakistan’s announcement of another one percent increase in the interest rate has brought this rate to a historic level of 22 percent.
