Manchester City, who won the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup last season, fall to second place in the 2024 rankings. French champions Paris Saint-Germain broke into the top three for the first time, with revenues of €802 million. Commercial revenue represented the largest income stream for ‘Money League’ clubs for the first time since the 2015-16 season, excluding the COVID-19 impacted 2019-20 season. Tim Bridge, lead partner in financial experts Deloitte’s Sports Business Group, said: “Another record-breaking year for Money League clubs represents the ongoing financial might of the football industry. Deloitte attributed that fall to the Reds’ on-field performance, with the club finishing fifth in the Premier League last season and bowing out in the Champions League last 16.

The problem is that we have stood at a crossroads at this time, Hafiz Ehsan KhokharISLAMABAD:Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi’s conversation in Sachi Baat programElections should be purposeful while these elections are purposeless,Our leadership failed to understand that all these parties have been in power,After the election, a coalition government will be formed in Pakistan,Our leadership does not have the ability to run a majority government,If a majority party comes, she thinks she has become the king,Prime Minister works by consultation and not by orders,According to the conditions of Pakistan, only a weak coalition government will be formed,The weakest government in Pakistan was formed in 1997,The 16-month PDM government was a failure of governance,In the last 2 years, every party has been in the government, but there has been no improvement,It was necessary to sit down before the election and determine the way forward,Today, no party has a manifesto nor has anything to say,It was decided how to run the affairs of the country, what important decisions to make,Today, no political party has any manifesto, nothing to say, After 15 days there is election but there is no election campaign,PML-N will have a purposeless manifesto, what will be written in the manifesto, Bilawal gave a manifesto that he will give 300 units of electricity for free, how will he give it?,If the country does not have the income to pay the interest, then how will they give free electricity,Today we should have sat, decided what to do next,The newly formed government will fail, former Prime MinisterIf the election also becomes controversial, then what will we do,Even if the new government completes 5 years, there will be noI don’t want to be a part of any corruption within the system,Legal expert Hafiz Ehsan Khokhar’s talk in Sachi Baat programThe problem is that we have stood at a crossroads at this time, Hafiz Ehsan KhokharIhsan Khokhar has not seen Pakistan’s worst index in 76 yearsOur justice system is at number 140 in the world,Our governance and HR system is ranked 165 in the world,The government is formed so that justice and prosperity will come in the country,The government is formed that work will be done for all the 3 crore children who are out of school,Politicians, people, judiciary and establishment are major stakeholders of Pakistan,All stakeholders should sit down and make a 10 to 15 year action plan,It is very difficult to provide facilities to 250 million population in four provinces,It takes 20 years for a common man to reach the Supreme Court,Parliament can play the biggest role in fixing the system,Parliament should review the criminal justice system of 1860 given by the British,Parliament and Judiciary will not legislate together, the country will not move forward,Currently, more than 20 lakh cases are pending in Pakistan,We should have enough courage to admit our mistakes,According to the Supreme Court, it is not meeting the expectations of the people,Parliament believes that it is unable to solve the problems of the people,The establishment believes that we are not moving forward while the world is improving,Unless all issues are discussed on a table, issues will not be resolved,Go to the streets and see what will be the future of the children who are roaming around,Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s dealings with institutions were to have the same results,A party that has been in power has created confusion by taking a sign from it,It is not easy to change the constitution, it requires two-thirds majorityA transparent election was held in 1970, its result was not accepted, AbbasiHistory will always remember that an election symbol was taken from a party,Earlier had withdrawn the election symbol of Talwar from PPPWhen you are out of power, things change and when you are in power, things change, IThere is no angel here, the need is to sit together,We need to bring about a change within ourselves, no other solution,60 to 70 billion will be spent on the election, but the problems will not be solved,At this time, Army Chief and Chief Justice can take important decisions in Pakistan,Once people’s trust in the system is established, the economy itself will improve,Citizens sitting inside and outside Pakistan should be sure that the country has moved in the right direction,All the governments have done their work, then why is the country standing in this place?,We are all part of this failure, come together and determine the way forward,We need to learn from our past,Even if he completes the next 5 years, there will be no benefit,Constitution and laws are for nations and countries,Our thinking and behavior is not democratic and parliamentary,That democratic system has not flourished with us,If we say that the election is not right, the government is not right, then who will believe,NAB was created to hold politicians accountable, how many were held accountable,NAB’s only job is to save the corrupt and do corruption itselfT

The US and Iraq will "soon" begin discussions regarding the future of American military presence in the country, according to a report published Wednesday. The report comes amid repeated calls from Iraqi authorities for the US to withdraw troops in the wake of strikes inside Iraq against Iran-backed groups accused of attacking American personnel. The officials told the network that US military officials and diplomats would be involved in the discussions. The officials, who spoke to CNN, said part of the discussions will center around determining the feasibility and timing of concluding the US military presence. At this time, I'm not aware of any official request by the government of Iraq for DOD forces to depart," he said.

“I was not an imported prime minister, I was a local prime minister and he was a failed prime minister,” Nawaz told the rally. Nawaz Sharif positioned himself as a leader capable of redressing the public's grievances, particularly in the face of rising inflation and price hikes. "I am not the prime minister who makes promises and forgets, and takes one U-turn after another. Therefore, on February 8, vote for the PML-N so that Nawaz Sharif can save you from inflation and unemployment. Yes, Nawaz Sharif is a Ladla [favourite], but he is the Ladla of the people.”

In what way does the defence of a nationwide internet outage by top government officials, citing “system installation issues,” vary from the scenario in which a student arrives at class without completing their assignment and claims that “the dog ate it”? Of course, both scenarios are possible: a particularly ravenous dog might nibble on a child’s schoolwork, and “system installation” can result in an unplanned outage just in time for an informally authorised political party to host an online event. For background, the three gentlemen had addressed the media on Monday, stating that the latest nationwide internet outage, which occurred this past Saturday evening, was entirely related to the PTA’s “software being upgraded” and had nothing to do with the online jalsa that the PTI had organised at the same time. Putting aside the argument over the cause of the outages, denying access to internet services to the general public is a violation of their fundamental rights and will probably be upheld in court. There is also the impact on the digital economy: each disruption causes billions in losses to businesses and individuals who rely on internet connectivity for their work.

I was not an imported prime minister; I was a local prime minister, and he [Imran Khan] was an unsuccessful one." In every era, Nawaz Sharif provided relief to the people, so on February 8, vote for the PML-N in such numbers that Nawaz Sharif can rescue you from inflation and unemployment,” she added. When Nawaz Sharif was not in the competition, then what popularity are we talking about? You used to say we are very popular after removing Nawaz Sharif from the competition. Now that Nawaz Sharif has returned, we will see who is truly popular."

After last week’s tit-for-tat missile attacks, Pakistan and Iran have moved quickly to de-escalate tensions. On the other hand, Iran accused Pakistan of harboring Sunni terrorist groups like the Jaish al-Adl. More importantly, the Pakistan military, which is now in absolute command of the country, wanted to function as both responsible and tough in protecting the country’s security. Undoubtedly, Iran and Pakistan want to swiftly return to friendly relations and their carefully handled border situations. According to media reports, Dr. Shamshad Akhtar, the interim finance minister, plans to use a presidential ordinance to carry out the FBR reforms program by the end of this month, which is less than ten days before the elections. She thinks that in a few years, the reforms will increase tax revenue collection from the current 8.5 percent to 15 percent. The FBR bureaucracy, for its part, is against it because it fears losing its limitless privileges and having less discretionary power taken away. They therefore wish to defer the decision regarding FBR reorganization to the upcoming elected administration. In order to make taxation equitable and fair while increasing collection, it is imperative and crucial to reorganize the Board, separate policy from tax collection, introduce technology, and limit the discretionary powers of FBR officials.

A view during the opening of the grand temple of the Hindu god Lord Ram in Ayodhya, India, January 22, 2024. PHOTO: REUTERSThe Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) — a 57-member bloc of Muslim countries — on Tuesday denounced the construction and inauguration of the “Ram Temple” built on the site of the five-century-old Babri Masjid in India’s Ayodhya. In a statement issued on social media platform X on Tuesday, the OIC expressed “grave worry” over the construction and inauguration of the temple at the site of the razed Babri Masjid. But for Modi’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the opening of the Ram Mandir was a landmark moment in a decades-long campaign to align the country’s governance with its majority faith. Pakistan also urged the Indian government to ensure the safety and security of religious minorities, including Muslims and their holy places.

I am writing to express my concern regarding the escalating cost of medicines in Pakistan. It is pertinent to mention that a critical factor contributing to this unsettling increase in medicine prices is the growing shortage of various drugs used in the preparation of essential medicines. In response, patients are compelled to resort to cheaper substitutes for essential medications, a compromise that comes with grave consequences. Therefore, I request the government to address this critical issue by investigating the root cause of the pharmaceutical production slowdown. Collaboration between the government, the pharmaceutical industry, and healthcare stakeholders is essential to pave the way for a more equitable and accessible healthcare system in Pakistan.
