A group of transporters, Concerned Transporters in South West of Nigeria, has vehemently opposed Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya’s (MC Oluomo) bid for the presidency of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW). The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a club bouncer, Kingsley Otti, for allegedly stabbing a suspected hoodlum to death at a lounge on Ago Palace Way in the Okota area of the state. Transportation costs are set to skyrocket in the Federal Capital Territory following the hike in the price of petrol by some stations of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited in Abuja on Wednesday. The stations of the national oil company have raised the retail price of petrol to N1,030 from N897 per litre, our correspondent observed across multiple NNPCL stations in the FCT. The new price, the second increase in one month, represents a 14.8 per cent or N133 rise.
