Sir James Wallace, whose extensive art collection is on display at the Pah Homestead. He began collecting art, now worth about $50m as the James Wallace Arts Trust Collection, in the 1960s. AT Board Chair Wayne Donnelly says that due to budget constraints, the Board did consider a cheaper, staged approach.

Blair David Beaumont (38) is serving a sentence of three years 10 months at Rolleston Prison where he recently fronted the board. “To his credit, Mr Beaumont recognises that returning to self-employment is not in his immediate future,” Markham said. Beaumont received a glowing endorsement for his work in the prison kitchen, featuring “very positive file notes regarding his work ethic”. The board said Beaumont would benefit from reintegration work or any employment opportunities outside prison.
