Senior Sergeant Anthony Bond, of Dunedin, said police were called to a crash where a vehicle smashed into a power pole in Victoria Rd at 7.10pm on Friday. New Zealand's biggest insurer is urging the incoming government to push on with natural hazard risk reduction, climate change adaptation and managed retreat work to help keep insurance available and affordable in the face of stark impacts, and rising costs, from extreme weather and natural hazards. Average claim costs are rising, she says, noting average weather-related claim costs were $35,000 in Hawke’s Bay, $30,000 on the West Coast, and $21,000 in Gisborne Tairāwhiti. “For over a decade, we have been clear that New Zealand needs to take urgent action to keep people safe from the impacts of natural hazards and climate change. Banks have told a subsequent parliamentary inquiry into climate adaptation that insurance withdrawal would leave them with stark options. Supplied The RoboTruck is a touch shorter in length and width, and it’s also likely a little cheaper than its Cybertruck inspiration. From end to end, bottom to top, the RoboTruck is a clear Tesla Cybertruck knockoff. In its promotional imagery, one could almost be forgiven for mistaking the RoboTruck for being a halfway decent reproduction of the Cybertruck. The gap between the doors on the left-hand size is four times as wide as the equivalent gap on the right. MATTHEW HANSEN/STUFF Tesla has opened the doors to its second store in Auckland, featuring a huge car delivery area, parts area, and service center.

TDB Recommends NewzEngine.comChloe smashed Ryan Bridges and David Seymour in the debate on Palestine. This is a technical war crime happening in real time and David and Ryan want to conflate the hostage release on par with halting immediate and technical war crimes? The response has to be proportional and what the IDF are doing in Gaza is a technical war crime! Meanwhile the National/ACT/NZF hustle is still frozen in time doing nothing but playing to their venal self interests and egos. Even a small amount of sea level rise could expose hundreds more dairy farms near our coasts to flooding, new modelling reveals. Specifically, they sought to quantify the impacts to farms from flood-making extreme sea level events (ESL) - like king and storm tides - with relative sea level rise (RSLR), or the height of the ocean relative to land at different places. At current sea levels, 472 farms were potentially exposed to a one-in-10-year extreme event, while 1276 farms were at risk of a one-in-500-year event. New research finds sea level rise-driven flooding could add to the climate change risks our valuable dairy sector already faces. It showed the rise in danger wasn’t driven by the extreme events themselves – but the fact that background sea level rise caused inundation to occur much more frequently.

NZ Post use Fleetwood Mac’s anthem as a gentle cheeky Christmas TV advert all about telling little white lies to make Christmas a secret. Our ‘Churn and Burn’ economy of a housing market-with-bits-tacked-on that is fueled by record-high migration, low investment and rising residential land prices is churning and burning faster than ever. Let’s get back to that NZ Post TV advert. Why are all the couriers in those NZ Post adverts Indian? The reason of course as to why so many couriers are Indian is because they are the ones most exploitable by NZ free market capitalism.
